Lightning Returns Makeup Tutorial & GIVEAWAY

Hey! Today's look is a fun one - Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. I'm super excited about it because Lightning is one of my favourite characters. Final Fantasy XIII was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played (don't kill me, I've gone back and played the others ;)), so the characters in it have a special place in my heart. Especially Light, Fang and Hope - my dream team. So this is the first of hopefully many Final Fantasy tutorials.

Like I mentioned in the video - this is not what Lightning's makeup looks like, she's probably not wearing any makeup at all. This is more just how I would do my makeup if I was going to dress up as Light for an event or something. Hopefully if you're here because you're doing just that, then my look will inspire you in some way.

My costume is from LightInTheBox and I was so impressed by the quality. I expected it to be quite cheaply made because it was only £99 and there are a lot of details to get right, but that wasn't the case! It's incredibly well made and the details are almost spot on! Mine was a little big in areas (I ordered a standard size S and wear UK size 6-8/US size 2-4/EU size 36-38), but you can get it made-to-order for no extra charge so I'd recommend doing that instead of just guessing your size. The only real problem I had was with the pauldron (shoulder armour), it attaches with press studs but they attached so tightly that they were impossible to undo and I pulled so hard to undo them that I ripped them right out of the fabric. Maybe I just got faulty press studs, who knows? I simply reattached the straps with a small stitch instead of using the press studs again.

I even ordered the boots. They're a bit on the small side so make sure to go a size up if you value circulation in your feet. Sorry I don't have any full body shots of the outfit. I film and take all the photos myself and it's really difficult to properly light a room and take decent photos on my own. Tried and failed, haha.

My wig I've had for a couple of years now and I freaking love it. I bought it on Amazon for £28.50 and never expected it to be as full and gorgeous as it is. The colour isn't exact, it's more a salmon pink than a dusty rose colour like it should be but I still highly recommend it.

Needless to say I felt incredibly bad ass when I was dressed up in all this Lightning garb. Although, as always I filmed at night time and all I did was take it all off and go to sleep. :'(
