Whitening Lightning / Gerard Cosmetics Lip Glosses

I have some of my new favourite lip products to show you today! I've always been a matte lipstick kind of gal but recently I've been leaning towards a glossy lip more often than not. Weird, huh?

Whitening Lightning has always been on my radar for their teeth whitening products but I never really knew they did beauty products too. The first I heard about their Gerard Cosmetics line and was when Jaclyn Hill worked with them to create her own lipgloss shades and of course I was sold straight away because Jaclyn Hill knows her shiz!

These glosses are supposed to have 'flattering undertones' to make your teeth look whiter and brighter. I don't know about that because I'm going through my Invisalign treatment right now and my teeth are covered by an aligner for 22 hours a day. But I still think it's a pretty cool factor to consider.

The tube has a mirror on the side and two small LED lights in the lid so you can apply your gloss on the go and at at time of the day - perfect for evenings out.

Prepare yourself for a lot of swatch photos...
(Each shade is a click-through link to make your life easier!)
Borneo / Bahama / Bermuda

Buttercream / Candy Apple / Coral Craze
Nude / Fiji / Jewel
Pink Frosting / Pouty Princess / Pink Tiara
Raspberry Sherbet / Seduction / Rose Hill
Salmon / Sugar Mama / Summer Sun / Phuket

Beautiful, right? Some of them are easier to work with than others. For example, the unusual shades like the white looks crazy by itself so you would need to apply it over the top of a lipstick/lip liner to avoid it looking patchy. But most of the shades can definitely just be worn on their own!

The formula is nice and sticky but not so sticky that it's uncomfortable, just sticky enough that it stays on for a couple of hours. As for how they wear, after a couple of hours you do end up with the dry 'white ring' around the centre and in the corners of the mouth. So you do need to add more to keep it looking fresh.

My current go-to: Nude over top of MAC Kinda Sexy!

At $24 (£14)  they do seem a little pricey for a lip gloss but I guess most of the price must go toward the packaging and the convenience of having a light and mirror. And I'm not sure how much product is in there exactly but it looks like a really decent amount, more than any other lip glosses I have!
